That is so terrible. Naturally the liberal media will ‘understand’ Hamas’ right to defence while violently opposing Israel’s right to defend its little children from being butchered with an axe (or killed by rocket fire). This anti-Jewish fetish that has infected Europe is starting to scare me. Nick Cohen is right when he says that the hatred aimed at Jews is always rationalized away. Just imagine if an American or British child had been axed to death in the green zone in Baghdad. There would be condemnation after condemnation.
Mary I completely agree. When people (and I’m not talking about Hamas, I’m expecting a lot of commentators to come out with this if they haven’t already) start to say that a 13 year boy was desrved (or justified, expected, it’s the same thing) to be murdered in that way in response to Israel’s ‘occupation’ and Cast Lead, well, you know we’re all in serious trouble.
