Given the nature of some of the “business” transacted in Dubai, there may have been a lot of Mossad operatives present in at the time of the hit, but I doubt all would have been involved, as alleged by Dubai’s investigators, who claim that two of these agents “escaped” to Iran. It would, however, make sense that all operatives present in Dubai should leave the place immediately to avoid being picked up and questioned.

Hamas is still favoured over the corrupt Fatah, but only by virture of that. Were they given a choice of good governance, Hamas would be toast too.

Since Cast Lead, the rocket attacks against southern Israel have abated because the population saw what the ongoing low to medium level attacks resulted in. They may have been dumb enough to vote for guns instead of butter, but a few years of all-jihad all-the-time has started to look no more attractive than Fatah’s manipulations and thievery.

I’m aware from a previous post that assasination is a matter for some jollification,but what I think is really funny is the idea that Israel can gain in any meaningful way from this policy,if this policy does in fact exist.After the what was it,one tonne? 500 pounds? bomb which was dropped on Sheikh Yasin(and anybody else who happened to be in the general vicinity)what was the upshot from Israel’s point of view?
That’s right,Hamas is still about, and with more prestige among Palestinians.That bomb achieved at best a net result of fuck all.

The latest bit of Purim “humor”…

Ten reasons to give your passport to the Mossad:

1. “You” get to travel to exotic locations even when you don’t leave the country.
2. People will think that you are like James Bond.
3. Your friends will be nice to you just in case you really are Mossad.
4. It’s cheaper than traveling yourself.
5. The Mossad are nice people really, just misunderstood.
6. The Mossad are the defenders of the only real democracy in the Middle East.
7. The Mossad were killing terrorists before it even became fashionable.
8. Having the Mossad use your passport to kill a terrorist is probably the only interesting thing that will ever happen to you.
9. So much of the world hates Israel that no one will hold it against you if your passport is used in a killing.
10. Better a Mossad hit than an Israeli missile which tends to kill everyone in proximity to the victim.

And then there’s the comment I read elsewhere that the Mossad wouldn’t send 26 agents to take out ONE target but ONE agent to take out 26 targets!

I am not sure it was Israel either. But those who have slammed Israel for it believe it was, and the fact they reacted with such horror says it all.

I’m still not convinced it was Israel.
a. Is it likely that they would send a team of 26+ for one man?
b. How come Mabhouh arrived without bodyguards? He must have felt awfully safe, but why?
c. Apparently two of his killers departed Dubai for Iran. If they were Israeli, is that likely?
d. Is it likely that Israel would have used dual nationality Brits living in Israel, rather than another nationality?
e. Mabhouh was involved in international arms trading. Might he have some fairly serious competition or aggrieved merchants wanting him out of the way?
f. How come two of the suspects taken by the Dubai police are Palestinians? Are they Gazans? Are they Hamas?

I don’t suppose we’ll ever know, but the consensus I’ve seen on blogs and newspapers appers to be, ‘good riddance’.
