The brilliant Jonathan Hoffman has been spearheading the response to the ludicrous boycott of the Ahava cosmetics store in London.

On his blog today he urges people to follow the Buycott principle to support Ahava. Sounds good to me – let’s counter these ugly protestors by making ourselves even more beautiful…

In my little town at the back of beyond there’s an upstairs beauty parlour that I’ve never been to – it’s above a bakery, and all I see is its stairs, except that it has a display of Ahava products in a corner of the window of a shop further along. I have quite a few Ahava products bought in Israel so I’ve never as yet checked that place out. I really must. Although the local peaceniks are frequently out in force – all baker’s dozen of ‘em – with their anti-Israel banners (funny how persons of their ilk confine their hostility exclusively to the little Jewish State, innit!) and although they rendezvous about 50 yards from that beauty parlour they have yet to demand a boycott. That’s probably only because the display is so discreet you miss it if you blink. Aided and abetted by a columnist on the local paper, they shrilly demand that the local university divests from Israel, and frequently plant anti-Israel “feature articles” in the press.

It’s good these protestors encourage us to buy more products. Ironic!

Fogal it’s hilarious! I never even knew it was there! I want to go and thank them. My skin is so peachy since I went in and snapped up some products. Morons.

What the mindless morons in the US are doing to shops which stock Ahava products.

Look at how they intimidate customers.

  4. JonathanH says:

Some anti-Israel blogs auggest that the Forces of Darkness in the USA have persuaded Costco to stop selling AHAVA products.

    • blahblahblah says:

Is that our Forces of Darkness or your Forces of Darkness? Clarity is EVERYTHING in this game,Jonathan.

      • ben David says:

Clarity you worthless tool? You won’t even write your own name let alone support the correct side.

I feel you are misrepresenting the aim of the anti-Ahava protest. They are protesting only against goods that profit from the occupation of the West Bank. Seems reasonable to me.

Ana must be that Pink Policewoman from the video.

  7. Paul Stein says:

Perhaps they don’t realise that a significant proportion of the Dead Sea has always been within Israel’s boundaries. Also, I am not aware of any similar activities when the “west bank” was occupied by Jordan from 1948-67, but then that would mean admitting that there has never been a Palestinian state, something they would rather not do.

  8. I have posted some pictures of the Ahava demonstration on 25 April (together with some comments on the hypocrasy of the demonstrators) here:

I looked at the Ahava web site and can see nothing of interest at high prices. BUT then, what do I know, being just a grumpy old man who dislikes all forms of cosmetics. SO, I have taken the more sensible approach of asking my wife to take a look for herself… (-:
