How I have enjoyed watching Alastair Campbell wind-up Sky’s Adam Boulton over the last few days.
Round one: “Adam, I know you take yourself terribly seriously.” See it here.
Round two: “My god, this is live on television – dignity, dignity!” See it here.

Campbell is so good at winding him up! Boulton just reacts like a child in both of these situations!
The MacKenzie Campbell exchange is much smoother: both are pros. Boulton comes over as a fool.
What Campbell has always known about journalists is that while they can dish it out, they cannot take it back.
Nice to have some good news for Israel today as well.
By the way, I hear that Adam Boulton just threw another tantrum live on air. This time at Ben Bradshaw!
I’m with Boulton 100%. Campbell needs taking down.
Of course you’re with Boulton, he’s a little puppet for the Tories. And I think he came close to thumping Campbell here, so your wish nearly came true!
Round One: Campbell is scandalous for whingeing that Sky covered the Labour candidate who badmouthed Brown. And for telling Boulton that he takes himself seriously. Typical rudeness, like Brown calling Gillian Duffy a bogot. That’s paet of the reason they were voted out.
Is Adam Boulton the Arthur Fowler of political broadcasting?
I instinctively took against Boulton when I saw his face; now I am happy to have reason to back up that instinct.
To be fair to Boulton I did see him give that A.O. Griffin a bad time a few months back, he deserves credit there. And Campbell is no stranger to the mashugina doctor.
How has Boulton kept his job? Surely someone in his postion is expectd to appear, at least, neutral, and be prepared to soak up a bit of backchat. Heck – if Paxman can do it why can’t Boulton?
LOL!
Thanks for reminding me of the Alastair Vs Adam punch up. Also fantastic when Kelvin chipped in
