I am catching up with your blog because Alan slipped a disc last weekend, how great that you have video capabilities now, I feel the world is modernising. What a good looking young man you are too! Keep your tales coming, and keep smiling of course.

This video blog is unmissable – thanks Chas.

I spent a summer as a youth leader in Ein Kerem nearly 40 years ago, it is a magic place.

We call it a nargila :-)

  4. Adam says:

    Wish I was in Israel!

  5. NM says:

I wish I *were* in Israel. Has Fiddler on the Roof taught you nothing about the subjunctive? ;-)

    I wish I was/were in Israel too. :(

Chas you’re getting quite a tan!

  7. I enjoyed listening to you. Saw you last week on TV (Channel 2), too short, I figure you deserved a full interview!

That thingee you smoked is called a ‘nargillah’ (Arabic word).

Regarding Tel Aviv, Arthur Koestler was here in the 1940′s (if you haven’t read his book about Israel of that time (it was then ‘Palestine’), ‘Thieves in the Night’, you have a treat in store for you. In that book he described what was then Tel Avib as ‘a cross between Witechapel and Monte Carlo”!
