Today is international Buy Israeli Goods (BIG) Day, to counter the boycott efforts of the haters. ‘Buying Israeli goods on March 30th – and every other day – is a wonderful and positive way to show your support for Israel,’ said Tanya Stern, Director of StandWithUs UK. ‘Let’s join together and make March 30, 2011 a great day for Israel. Buy Israeli goods, ask for Israeli goods and be sure to thank shop managers for carrying Israeli goods. Be a part of BIG Day!’
Sounds good to me. I was sure to add several Israeli products to my cart at Windsor Waitrose today, as you can see below. True, I am not the biggest of spenders, but I’m also going to do an online shop with Ahava UK after I write this post. Plus, you know how tight and careful with money us gentiles are.
Actually, speaking of the goyim, I wish to thank the PSC for its useful list of Israeli products in different British supermarkets. I now know what to look out for as I visit various chains, which will make my funding of the Israeli economy all the more effective. Kol hakovod, muppets!
Please do your bit today, and purchase some Israeli goods.

How about Crawford’s Crackers?
I have always used the PSC list to point me in the idrection of Israeli products to buy

Meanwhile, in London…
I alway’s do my best to buy Israeli Produce at my local supermarket ..Today I will be especially keeping my eyes peeled at the supermarket. However i am currently being a wimp waiting for the rain to stop before i make the trip to Morisons
ummm..I’m just enjoying my Medjol dates froma so-called ‘settlement’ in Samaria….guaranteed to aggravate the haters that one……along with some great Sabra hummus. Yummy!
Buying Israeli products should not end with food! There’s loads of great music out there as well. If you’re into soft rock and bands like My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, there’s a great band called HaIvrit who have a highly recommended album out. Yael Naim, Chen Rotem (excellent), Danielah Spector, Yasmin Levy and loads more.

Steve, your message should come with a health warning. Israeli music = addictive. On my ipod, the the top 25 chart is clogged with the Idan Raichel Project, thrilling Shimon Buskila and Maya Avraham, the reflective Boaz Shar’abi, the etherial sounding Amir Benaoun, ballads from Ivri Lider and Harel Skaat. Anyone who has not listened to these delights is missing out! The Jerusalem and the Aviv String Quartets, with their exquisite musicianship, provide delight of a different sort.
This is a GOOD addiction Peter!
Yasmin Levy is playing a show at the Barbican next week, just to remind people!
You are awful, Steve. Every addict craves approval of their secret vice. When I shamefacedly confess it, you say it is a GOOD addiction. To make it worse you mention this Yasmin Levy.
Never heard of her!
Off I go to investigate and bingo, I’m addicted. Such dulcet tones…
“muppets”…lol
Good work Chas. About to go on Ahava site to purchase something for the I love (geddit?!?!)!
ROFLMAO!
Thanks Chas – I always try to make it BIG day EVERY time I go to the supermarket! I get great pleasure knowing that I can undo the “work” of several bigoted haters.
Was there any Israeli GOAT for sale?
Every day is Buy Israeli Goods day, but today I did some extra shopping!
I just supported Israel by buying Ahava products for myself and my family at Thebeautycenter.com
I donated some money to http://www.pizzaidf.org.
Hopefully a group of soldiers will receive some pizza, drinks and a sinply hilarious message of support.
A (non)Jewish) friend has bought some Mud Soap for herself, and she made the deadline!!
I saw that pizzaidf.org also caters to families in Sderot and Gush Katif families, so i think I know where I’ll be putting some future donations…:)
Chas, I’ve been using using this slogan – Shopping Against Bigotry. Feel free to use it.
