“When dawn came, the skies were clear, the trees gave off their fragrance and the earth emitted its own pleasing odor. It seemed as if the whole creation was praying: the birds were chirping overhead, the frogs were croaking in the ponds, the rooster was crowing in the yard, the water was muttering its soft gurgle, and the forest making its gentle murmur.”

From Light And Fire of the Baal Shem Tov by Yitzhak Buxbaum

I love that passage and the book it comes from. It’s a passage that always comes to mind as Spring arrives.

Very nice. When I asked you in Kenton what attracted you to Chassidus, you told me this, in general terms.

Aha, a bit of mysticism. Utter peace.

It occurs to me that you must live within the croak of a frog, the chirp of a bird, etc, to identify so fondly with this passage.
    Lucky you! :)

Let’s continue the passage…”and Chas turned in his creaky bed and snuggled anew under his duvet; the kitchen echoed to the double clink of cups of tea, the shusha of sugar popping into his cup…etc…:)

    A lovely passage.

I do live near much nature – it’s a lovely little village I dwell in.

I enjoyed the way you took the passage on!

On a separate note, a ceremony is being held on Monday night in Jerusalem in memory of former Prime Minister Menachem Begin, on the 20th anniversary of this death.

Begin is my favourite ever Israeli. I strongly recommend you visit the Menachem Begin Heritage Centre in Jerusalem next time you’re there.

So beautifully poetic. I can vividly depict this as if I’m standing right in the middle of it all!
    Thank you for sharing!!!
